Diaper Disaster...

We have had several requests for the full story on the diaper disaster. I think all of us new moms just need reassurance that it doesn't just happen to us. So... if you are eating - or just easily grossed out, please discontinue reading and check back in another day...

Mama and I took our first trip to the mall all by ourselves. Some work was being done on the house and we had to leave rather quickly because of the noxious fumes. So Mama forgot to bring a few things... like a clean blanket to lay me on if she needed to change my diaper. We found some towels on clearance so she bought a few just in case.

Everything was going so well! We found a cute new outfit and were just sitting down to have a nice sandwich for lunch. I decided that since Mama was eating, I should too! My favorite snack is still the big toe on my right foot. I was getting the first big bite of it when we realized something was very, very wrong. As I lifted my leg, I decided to poo. Since my leg was in the air, the poo decided to come out (much like a fountain) and fill my carseat, cover my legs and give me something really fun to splash around it. SERIOUSLY - SPLASH AROUND IN...

People were eating all around us, so Mama threw her sandwich into her purse, (It took her a while to realize this was a poor choice) and a bag on top of me so no one else had to see it. We headed to the nearest bathroom and luckily, grabbed one of those pretty new white towels. Fifteen minutes, one clean diaper, thirteen wet wipes and one poor white towel later I was all clean and Mama had a big pile of trash to throw away. Guess what?? No diaper baggies in her purse. So it all had to go straight into the bathroom garbage. While. Other. People. Were. Watching. And giving my poor Mama some seriously mean looks.

For some reason, Mama looked really tired after all of this, and that sandwich didn't look very appetizing any more. She said we had to go straight home. But I was pretty excited you see. I got to wear a brand new outfit back to the house.

Pretty lucky that I am soooo cute, huh?!?!

What a Weekend!

Daddy and Mama finally took me to this pool I keep hearing about in our neighborhood. I have had this cool crab thing for quite some time and I haven't been able to use it until now!! I had so much fun!!
I told Mama I was a big boy that she could let me swim on my own. She couldn't stop laughing and looking at my feet. For some reason, she kept calling me her little duck!
Daddy got in on the fun too! He like to swing me around. He makes Mama a little nervous, but she is just a worrier. It is SOOO FUN to be moving that fast.
Grandddaddy taught me a new thing called "chilling." It is when you just sit back and relax and talk to each other. I had lots of good stories to tell him about my life. He was a very good listener! I think he had a pretty good time with me.

We also got to go to church to watch Jake play in a basketball game. I didn't get to watch much, because people kept passing me around playing with me. Can you believe the old guys beat the youngsters???

Fun Friday!

My Grandmother and Granddaddy came to town today and I got to show them lots of new tricks. They got to see me sucking on my toe firsthand. It is still a tasty little treat.
We also got to play peek-a-boo and the Crawl on your Grandmother game. It is pretty fun!
Mama got me this cool Tickle Me Elmo. Oh goodness the fun we had with this little creature. He would just laugh and laugh and I would too! He would roll and so would I!!
I gave up bottles a while ago, which leaves Mama always with me. Always. So she has decided to try a sippy cup a little early. I am still not the biggest fan, but it will do in a pinch.
I do expect everyone to laugh and clap each time I take a drink correctly, of course. I need lots of praise to encourage these good behaviors!

Playing Around!

Today, while Daddy was away, Mama let me play with his work clothes. They are very fun to dress up in. I told Mama that I was going to be just like Daddy when I grow up. She made a very icky face and told me she would rather me be a lawyer.
I really like this hat though. I think I am supposed to call it a cover, but I like my word better. Did you know I have my very own flight suit? It is still a little big, but soon I can really dress like my Daddy!

Anytime I am hanging out now, this is what I am doing. These feet are better than any toys I have. I like to hold them, and kick them, and eat them! Can you pull your feet up to your ears like I can??
Mama thinks I am hilarious. She said this is what I did when I was in her tummy, too! She has a picture of me - even before I was born - grabbing my feet and pulling them way up high.

My New Toys...

I finally got Mama to buy me these cool car seat toys. As you can see, I kinda like them!!! And of course, I got the ones that taste the best!!
In other news, today I sat up all by myself. Mama has been trying to get me to do this for a while... but today was the day I chose. I only last for about a minute, then I like to dive back onto the blankets!! I will try to get her to take some pictures of my new trick!

Dedication Weekend!

This weekend was my dedication at church! We had so much fun! Lots of family came to see me and I was very good at distracting them from what they are supposed to be doing...

This is my Aunt Susannah. She and Mama were being silly and flipping me upside down. I thought it was great!!!

This is my Uncle Jake. His hair is soooo fun to grab at. It is almost as long as Mama's. (Not really, it's just fun to say that!!) Everytime I see that guy, I just crack up. Mama said he is her little brother, but I just don't think so. He looks pretty big to me.

This is Rev. Vest with my family. He held me up and walked me around the church. Everyone I looked at just laughed and laughed. I tried my best to smile for them. Guess I did a good job!! He made Mama and Daddy and the whole rest of the church promise to raise me in a Christian home and take me to church every Sunday. They have lots of things they have to do with me... like read the Bible and pray. Sometimes when we do this, I would just rather eat the Bible. Mine is really colorful and tastes pretty good!

Here we are again... Mama and Daddy and all the others.

Boy, all this work sure made me tired. I think I was supposed to keep listening to Rev. Vest, but I had all I could take. My eyes wouldn't stay open any more!

We made it through the whole service without doing three things Mama was most worried about... I didn't "stain" my new outfits. I didn't pitch a loud screaming fit. And I didn't make any loud "noises" when everyone was praying. Whew... She was so relieved. I don't know what she was worried about - I know how to act in every social situation...
We had a great time in Chatsworth! It was busy, but lots of fun. I was so well behaved - even though Mama got me off my schedule. I think someone should buy me a new toy. Like, maybe... hmmm.... a Corvette! (What do you think, Granddaddy?? A red one??)

Waking Up is Hard to Do...

Lately, when I wake up in the morning, I just kind of hang out and babble to myself for a while. But I am aware, I tell you. I watch and wonder who will be coming to get me each morning. I stretch and do the tallest push-up I can do, trying to get my eyes high enough to see the door. When it opens I get the biggest smile on my face - ready for a new day!!

Mama thinks it's funny to watch me do this from the video monitor. I think she needs to quit watching and come get me!!

Today Mama was still taking pictures and I really wanted to be picked up and held. Mama just laughed, but Cali understood me. She came over and gave me a big kiss and told me it would be alright. I guess sometimes it's good to have a big doggie like her! I just hope she doesn't learn how to jump in bed with me like she does with Mama and Daddy.

Cali and Me

Mama has been working with me and my doggie, letting us spend some time together. Cali gets a little excited and sometimes I get a big tongue bath. Here we are having a nice chat while Mama takes pictures.

Here We Go...

Welcome to our new blog! Mama is a little late getting this all set up, but we hope you can keep a watch on little growing me by just checking this site.

This was me when I was just a few minutes old. As you can see, I had a rough start and had a few extra attachments to hang on to. I am a lot like my Mama, you see and I need a little drama to get things started.

My Daddy told me that it's important to have a cool ride. Here is my first! That is me in that little box thingy and that is my very own helicopter behind it! Too bad they didn't let me sit in the front and try to fly that baby! I heard that maybe Daddy came or maybe he even flew that thing... but Mama said those were just rumors. :-)

Anyway, I turned out just fine. I just wanted an all-expense paid vacation to Charleston to get me started.

Here I am now, at five months, taking my first dip in the pool with Daddy! Not sure if I think this is so much fun. Think I'll stick to my little tub for a while. Mama promises me she will keep this up to date! I like to show off my good looks ya' know!
